Rocket Rentals of Dursley in Gloucestershire has recently purchased its first ever Doosan excavators with a delivery of 12 mini and midi machines which have increased the company's total fleet of these categories of equipment to 38 units.
Supplied by local dealer Kellands of Bridgewater, the order consisted of six 6 tonne DX60R reduced tailswing models plus a similar number of 2.7 tonne zero tailswing DX27zs.
Commenting on the order, Rocket Rentals managing director Simon Tomblin said, We actually went to have a look at just the 6 tonne machine in Kelland's yard but having spotted the DX27z, we were impressed enough to place an immediate order for six of each.
Mr. Tomblin continued, I particularly like the size of the DX60R because it is the same width as a typical 5 tonne excavator but offers more digging depth, more digging power and a much better specification for very little extra money.
All the machines have been equipped with Kosran immobilises, vandal guards and fully automatic quick hitches, a standard specification now adopted by Rocket Rentals for all its new excavators.
According to Mr. Tomblin, the new Doosan machines have been very well accepted by customers who have been happy to pay a little extra for the DX60R compared with a normal 5 tonner as in addition to the extra performance, it also has a very comfortable cab equipped with air conditioning as standard.
The DX60R is powered by a Yanmar engine developing 37.6 kW (50.4 hp) @ 2200 rpm and has a digging depth of 4145 mm and a reach of up to 6500 mm whilst the DX27z has a 15.8kW (21.2 hp) Yanmar diesel and offers a maximum digging depth and reach of 2775 mm and 4505 mm respectively.
