C & G Services, one of the leading training providers in the UK, has welcomed two ex-Army recruits to the ranks of their training team – Darren Richardson, who has joined as an instructor on LGV and PCV vehicles, and Jason Brookes, who will be looking after construction and civil engineering courses.
Darren (left), will also be working on ADR (dangerous goods) legislation, Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and PCV (Passenger Service Vehicle) training. He spent 22 years with the Army and has wide experience in instruction on heavy goods and passenger vehicles. His appointment follows C&G Services’ success in gaining Government approval to provide training under the new CPC scheme, introduced in 2008 to raise driving standards among commercial drivers.
Jason (right), who has completed two tours in Iraq, two in Aghanistan and one in Bosnia, is very experienced in operating excavators, tippers, bulldozers, rock crushers and other plant on projects in Kenya and the Middle East. His experience has prepared him for leading SMSTS courses (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and roads & streetworks courses.
