First compact low-frequency pneumatic suspension seat for the aftermarket
At bauma 2010, GRAMMER AG will present two high-comfort aftermarket seats, the Primo XL and Primo XXL for compact construction machines and forklift trucks, which comply with the relevant vibration classes. This makes GRAMMER the first seat manufacturer worldwide to offer very low profile low-frequency pneumatic suspension seats for aftermarket use. Vertical vibrations have been reduced by 20 percent on both models as compared to conventional air suspended seats – a genuine milestone in vibration reduction for compact seats.
This is in addition to the optional fore/aft isolator that provides for the best possible reduction in vibrations in the direction of travel. This not only contributes to a substantial improvement in driver comfort, but also results in economic advantages for the company: Retrofitting vehicles with high-quality seats increases their value while raising productivity through longer operating times and greater working speeds.
Effective protection against back strain
Improved wellbeing of the driver and effective protection against back strain are provided by the backrest, which can be adjusted to angles between minus 5 and plus 30 degrees. The lower back is helped into a natural position by a lumbar support. The backrest height can be set to fit the size of the driver in any of 13 positions. The Primo models are available with either a low or a high back. This makes them suitable for both compact construction machines and forklift trucks. Height and angle adjustable armrests are optional for both models. Safety is also a priority, with features such as the integrated duosensitive retractable belt. The placement and shape of the handles on both Primo models follow the logic of “design for use”, allowing the driver to intuitively use and understand seat features – the seats are more or less self explanatory.
Both models can also be equipped with a seat heating. They comply with the EN ISO 7096 standard for construction machines in spectral classes EM 6 to EM 9, making them suitable for skid loaders, compact dumpers and compact wheel loaders. For forklift trucks, they comply with the DIN EN 13490 mechanical vibration standards and spectral classes IT 1, 2 and 3.
