Positive results for Liebherr at 2010 Bauma despite travel difficulties

Liebherr has announced positive results from Bauma 2010, despite the fact that many visitors from abroad could not attend due to flight cancellations.

Although the air travel situation was difficult, the three Liebherr product divisions at this trade fair – “Earthmoving and Mining”, “Construction Cranes and Mixing Technology” and “Mobile Cranes” have already concluded satisfactory business transactions and made many useful contacts with prospective customers.

Among the large orders Liebherr has received is one from a German construction-industry logistics company for a package totalling 35 construction cranes; a customer in India has ordered five 300-t crawler cranes. New orders for the mobile crane division already amount to more than 30 machines. Numerous purchase contracts were concluded with the Earthmoving and Mining division, including a gratifying number of unexpected orders. Interest in Liebherr's new TA 230 articulated dumper is also surprisingly high.

Groups of visitors from Asia and North America in particular unfortunately had their flights cancelled, but many customers were able to make the journey by other means, often involving considerable personal hardship, and succeeded in reaching Germany and Munich by ship, road and rail.

To provide customers who have not been able to reach Munich with at least an impression of trade fair activities, Liebherr has increased the number of topical video reports on its homepage www.liebherr-bauma.com to 3 – 4 daily product presentations from its stand.
