Speedy has announced that its managed services division – which sources equipment from other suppliers on its customers’ behalf – has reached the landmark turnover figure of £25M.
The division allows Speedy to supply a wide array of specialist equipment to its customers through a range of partnerships with other market leading specialists.
By procuring third-party equipment through Speedy, customers – including Carillion, BVT, Simons and Works Infrastructure - benefit from guaranteed quality, reliability and range of coverage as well as consistently good value for money.
The service is also fully tailored to specific customer needs, with services covering powered access, heavy equipment, and waste management from multiple partners - including Lavendon, One Call Hire, and Nixon - being supplied across as many sites as necessary.
Tom Gleeson, operations director, managed services at Speedy said: “Increasingly, customers are looking for consistency in the supply of plant and equipment and they expect the right equipment to always be available in the right quantities at the right time.
“Our clients have been entering Joint Ventures for years and we have adopted a similar stance acting as lead partner. By forming partnerships with other suppliers, we are able to reliably supply a broad range of equipment including specialist products to our clients, maintaining high levels of value and quality.
“A rigorous selection process, followed by regular audits of the equipment supplied, ensures that it is fit for purpose at all times and meets both environmental and commercial performance targets.”
Andy Wright, UK chief executive at Lavendon said: “Partnering with Speedy has opened up a new customer base for the Lavendon fleet, offering a significant new revenue stream. Partnerships such as this are allowing the hire industry to best serve clients’ needs, which in turn benefits all involved.”
Lawrence Ireland, executive director UK, Works Infrastructure UK, said: “With Speedy’s access to an extensive product and service portfolio, alongside its nationwide depot network, they are ideally placed to meet the broad and diverse needs of Works Infrastructure through a single point of contact.”
