A-Plant is once again celebrating winning one of the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards in 2010.
At A-Plant, Health and Safety Management is a primary focus, covering both the company's workforce and the customers who use the company's products. To complement robust internal practices, the company has an ongoing programme aimed at educating customers in the ramifications of new Health and Safety legislation and how to meet the latest operational guidelines from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). A-Plant offers a comprehensive fleet of safety products, which forms part of what is believed to be the best hire service in Europe. The ongoing investment in the A-Plant fleet ensures that customers can always hire equipment which meets or exceeds the required safety standards.
The Gold Award will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), on Wednesday, May 12. The ceremony will take place alongside Safety and Health Expo 2010, Europe's leading annual health and safety exhibition. The RoSPA Awards scheme is not only about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; it also encourages organisations to develop robust Health and Safety Management systems.
David Rawlins, RoSPA's Awards Manager said: "A-Plant has shown commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Organisations which do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that's where the RoSPA Awards come in. As well as there being clear ethical reasons and legal requirements for good health and safety management, there is also a strong business case. RoSPA is delighted to publicly honour organisations which have demonstrated their work to improve performance in this sphere."
The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement which is graded at Merit, Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, President's Awards and Orders of Distinction.
