To meet huge demand for temporary lighting requirements, A-Plant has invested in 60 new Vertitower Lighting Towers manufactured by ArcGen Hilta, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of on-site power equipment. The new investment takes A-Plant’s hire fleet of Tower Lights to well over 1,000 units.
A-Plant’s Chief Executive Officer Sat Dhaiwal said: “Despite challenging economic conditions across the construction industry, we are continuing to invest heavily in new equipment to ensure we can meet the needs of our customers and provide the most up-to-date products available.”
Available for hire nationally from A-Plant Service Centres across mainland UK, the Vertitower is a robust mobile lighting unit which features a 360-degree rotating lamp head with an 8-metre telescopic mast enabling quick and easy operation. The tower has a built-in drum for convenient storage of the power cable which is a first for the UK market.
The Vertitower is fully electric, eliminating the possibility of hydraulic oil leakage, and the 114-litre fuel tank is completely bunded - making it environmentally safe. It has whisper quiet noise levels (just 66 dBA at 7m) which makes the Vertitower ideally suited for event lighting, site lighting in construction and highway contracts as well as for car parks, industrial sites, airports, warehouses and pedestrian areas at public events. It is also ideal for use at the scene of accidents, fires and other emergency situations.
Due to its lightweight and compact design, Vertitower can provide significant transportation cost savings and is ideal for outdoor use where numerous lighting stations are required. Multiple units can be loaded up and transported together, keeping project costs to a minimum for event hire.
There are four 1,000 Watt metal halide lamps fitted to super high output oval reflectors which direct high intensity light onto the working area below. Another key benefit is the 110V CTE auxiliary power available through two 16 Amp sockets which are protected by overload trips and a separate earth leakage breaker. This enables the Vertitower to also be used as a separate generator for additional on-site power tools such as welders or even other lighting equipment. The Vertitower is powered by a diesel Kubota D905 engine which is water cooled with an electric start. The fuel tank offers 65 hour operation and the electric winch ensures fast operation.
