Liebherr wins accolades at the Demolition Awards event

In a hotly contested competition for the new and prestigious Demolition Awards, Liebherr has announced that the company has won the Service and Support Award and achieved a “highly commended” in the Innovation category. Many top international names in the global demolition indus-try had entered numerous categories and the awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam in November. Liebherr’s involvement in the Demolition Awards was the result of close co-operation between Lieb-herr-France SAS and Liebherr-Great Britain Limited.

The Service and Support Award was achieved as an acknowledgement of Liebherr’s consistent success in tailoring specialist demolition machines to individual customers’ needs and providing ideal demolition solutions for specific tasks.

The second award was for innovation, where a “highly commended” accolade was won in partnership with Kocurek Excavators Limited. This was for a joint venture development where a Liebherr R 984 C Litronic excavator from the Group’s Colmar factory in France was equipped with a 65m telescopic demolition arm from Kocurek for extreme high-reach capabilities for Coleman & Co. Limited of Birmingham, UK.

The organisers, supporters, sponsors and delegates of the first ever Demolition Awards have deemed this inaugural event as a great success and are already looking forward to the 2010 contest – it is understood that a closing date for en-tries and confirmation of the awards dinner venue and date will be forthcoming in the near future. The Demolition Awards are organised by the magazine Demolition & Recycling International and supported by the EDA.
