A-Plant wins preferred supplier contract from Morrison Utility Services

A-Plant has announced that the company has won a new three-year preferred supplier agreement from Morrison Utility Services (MUS), the leading service provider in the UK and Ireland utilities sector. Under the new agreement, A-Plant is supplying a comprehensive range of plant and equipment for MUS contracts throughout the UK.

As well as past performance and capability, A-Plant won the contract based on the company’s ability to meet Morrison Utility Services’s criteria for supplier selection including an excellent safety track record; certification to relevant standards; financial stability; corporate responsibility and business ethics.

In order to be considered for preferred supplier status, A-Plant provided extensive evidence of monitoring and controlling Health & Safety performance, quality procedures, environmental policies and training and development programmes. In addition, A-Plant’s award-winning Extranet system enables Morrison to track the movements of its hired plant ‘on-line’ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A-Plant is the first national rental company in Europe to be recommended for dual certification to both the ISO 14001:2004 standard and OHSAS 18001:2007 specification covering health and safety and environmental procedures. A-Plant is also the first major player in the European hire industry to achieve certification that covers the entire scope of the company’s operations encompassing all A-Plant depots and the company’s administration centres.

By having its integrated Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) risk management systems independently assessed by the BSI and approved for IS0 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation, Morrison Utility Services has complete confidence that A-Plant is a supplier that can offer approved management of environmental, health and safety risks in every aspect of their business.

With 115 locations throughout Great Britain, A-Plant offers many advantages as a partner to Key Account customers such as Morrison Utility Services. In addition, the specially developed IT systems at A-Plant are unique in the equipment hire industry, enabling the company to provide consolidated information for all transactions with its customers, regardless of what equipment was hired and which A-Plant location was involved.
