Chris Jones, Training Express wins OPERC Prize (01/12/05)
Mr Chris Jones, Training Express is well known in industry as a former Chairman of NPORS and leading plant training and equipment provider. He is also a founding member of OPERC and it was Chris who instigated the OPERC Voluntary Code of Practice (VCoP) for plant and equipment operator training.
However, over recent years Chris has been working with OPERC on a voluntary basis to help further develop OPERC-Safetynet via the incorporation of an S/NVQ mapping function. This new functionality allows operator instructors to demonstrate knowledge evidence, as required by the instructor for the S/NVQ award, at the click of a button. Not only has this improved the quality of the test but it has also reduced the time taken to complete an assessment of the operator knowledge.
It was with great pleasure therefore, that Chris was awarded the OPERC prize for an outstanding contribution to plant and equipment safety. A well deserved prize for a true professional and staunch supporter of OPERC.
Here presenting the prize to Mr Chris Jones is Mr Mick Norton, OPERC President and Roger Bullivant.
