Bunton prepares for the upturn with a m investment in Volvo products

R Bunton Plant Hire Ltd of Harecroft near Bradford has made a further substantial investment in purchasing Volvo excavators as its plant hire and contracting portfolio increases.

This latest package of four Volvo EC210C's, three wheeled excavators and a reduced swing ECR145C follows hot on the heals of a delivery of 10 units supplied 12 months ago increasing Bunton's fleet of machines. Specifically the two wheeled EW160C's and a wheeled EW140C are first time additions to the fleet. "It's all down to the reliability and performance of the machines," explains Director Rob Hall when asked about Bunton's decision to add more machines from Volvo. "And just as importantly we can rely on Volvo for giving us a first class after sales service and a fast response on parts availability."

Established as a building concern in 1970 by Andy Bunton's father Robert, Bunton expanded its portfolio into skip and casual plant hire. Since moving to the Harecroft premises in 1980 the family run business has concentrated its interests solely in plant hire together with groundwork and landscaping contracts, aggregates, crushing and screening work. Co Director Andy Bunton is up beat about making a substantial investment in the current situation. "We have a healthy order book for an increasing amount of groundwork and landscaping contracts and our diversification on our plant hire side is really paying dividends," he said. "Offering our customers a quality brand of machine for hire also lifts our profile in the locality so we had no hesitation in choosing Volvo once again as we replace and increase the size of our plant fleet," he continued.

Volvo C series excavators are powered by Volvo Tier III low-emission engines which contribute to an excellent performance and are well matched to the machine's hydraulics providing high efficiency, rapid dig cycles and low fuel consumption. An advanced mode control system ensures the maximum possible hydraulic horsepower available is delivered at a constant engine speed under varying load conditions. In addition, boom and arm geometry provide highly competitive digging forces and lifting capacities, which makes for faster work cycles. Hose rupture valves are fitted as standard to the boom and dipper cylinders as are quick fit hydraulics and a hammer/shear service.

The new Volvo excavators delivered to R Bunton Plant Hire Ltd join a large and diverse fleet in excess of some 150 items of plant, all of which are maintained at the company's yard and fully equipped workshops by five service engineers. Bunton also run a fleet of grab and tipper wagons to support its groundworks and other, varied activities. For more information, visit www.rbunton.co.uk for the full range of services provided.
