that’s why we choose Volvo compact excavators for our fleet,”
...says Trevor Wright, Managing Director of AWH Utility Services Ltd as he takes delivery of another batch of Volvo mini diggers.
In existence now since 2004, AWH Utilities Ltd has become a leading utilities contractor in its own right as well as providing support to other utility concerns throughout the south east of England, East Anglia and Greater London. And underpinning Mr Wright's successful business lie Volvo compact excavators which, with the recent delivery of three EC15BXR's and a two and a half tonne EC25 total nineteen in his plant fleet. "We have found the Volvo machines to be good, reliable and robust which makes them popular with the crews that are using them every day, " comments Trevor Wright. "The most expensive time in our business is downtime which is what we don't experience with our Volvo machines."
Volvo compact excavators are designed for tough, rugged applications whilst at the same time delivering impressive levels of performance and technological advances. This includes a variable flow power control hydraulic system for precise control under all load conditions and safety features such as Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS), Tip Over Protection Structure (TOPS) and Falling Objects protection Structure (FOPS) contribute to outstanding operator safety.
All components and service points are within easy reach on the EC15BXR. For instance, the Volvo patented tilting counterweight allows easy access to the engine. The one-piece cab floor makes it easy to reach the spool valves while the hoses supplying the boom are fitted externally along the boom, keeping all connections within easy reach. A similar ease of service access can be found on the larger two and a half tonne EC25 with superb access to the engine and hydraulic components of the machine. Both the EC15BXR's and EC25 have been supplied to AWH Utilities as full cab versions complete with vandal guards which are a major deterrent against vandalism. Besides a full range of buckets, hydraulic breakers have also been supplied with the machines. Each machine has been allocated to a specific crew carrying out the complete gig, lay and re-instatement projects undertaken by AWH Utilities.
AWH Utility Services with its offices, yard and workshop is located just off the A12 close to Sandon, Chelmsford. The Company employs seventy people in total.
