OPERC/HSE Annual Update 2009

The 2009 OPERC/HSE Annual Update will be held at the HSE offices at Rosecourt, London on Tuesday 28th April 2009 (for details of the venue click here). Delegates should arrive by 12.30pm for light refreshments ready for a 1pm prompt start and the event is due to finish by about 5pm. During this year's event a series of 20 minute talks will be given on a range of topics including:

  • Workplace transport update: Load security issues - loading for safe travel and safe unloading (Nina Day, Workplace Transport, HSE)
  • Shattered lives update (Carol Grainger, HSE on behalf of the Slips and Trips team
  • Noise and vibration update (Colin Chatten and Peter Lennon, Noise and Vibration team, HSE)
  • Quick-hitch warning systems (Tony Bianchi, Managing Director, Quickswitch (UK) Limited)
  • Safety aspects of abrasive wheels (Chris Adams, TASC Solutions)
  • Parts and service (Jo Gallagher, Leach Lewis Plant Ltd)
  • Attracting youth into the industry – an OPERC sponsored initiative
  • Launch of the OPERC ‘Plant the Seed of Change’ campaign
  • Update on OPERC Activities

Refreshments will be provided and prize presentations will be made to individuals and companies who have made an outstanding contribution to science, industry, technology or safety.

The event will close with an update of new products, services and resources being produced by OPERC.
