Blue chip plant contractors Greyhound Plant Services, specialising in high production projects in the U.K. and abroad, has taken delivery of a package of thirty four items of new Volvo Construction Equipment products for various major contracts across England.
In light of a buoyant level of business with a significant number of new contracts being awarded, Greyhound Plant Services of Knockin, Shropshire has added thirty four items of Volvo equipment to its fleet. The deal includes ten A40E and twelve A25E articulated haulers, two EW140C wheeled excavators and two of the recently introduced reduced swing ECR235C excavators. Completing the deal come eight soil compaction rollers, (four SD160DX and four SD122DX) which are the first Volvo branded rollers to join the Greyhound arsenal. Commenting on the deal, Greyhound's Managing Director Will Jones said; "We settled on Volvo once again because in our opinion their after sales support nationwide is really second to none. We have equipment operating on projects all around the country and we can be confident that we are never far away from a Volvo engineer or a support centre when we encounter a problem. Their response times are extremely rapid."
The long standing relationship between Volvo and Greyhound helped encourage the decision to opt for eight Volvo branded soil compaction rollers. "This was a change in direction for us as we've normally opted for alternative makes of roller," continued Will Jones. "We took the Volvo machine for a thorough evaluation and were extremely impressed with its performance and overall quality so it made sense to include our requirements into the overall deal."
All thirty four machines will be deployed in Greyhound's plant fleet, half of which is now comprised of Volvo branded equipment and will either be used for general hire or on specific groundworks contracts the Company is involved with.
