Quality Recycling Solutions (QRS), a recently new venture formed from parent company Stanmore Quality Surfacing has purchased a twenty one tonne EC210CL from Volvo Construction Equipment as it develops its new recycling hub at Scratchwood quarry, London NW7.
The new EC210C excavator was selected after extensive trials involving several competitive models and on third party recommendations. "We wanted to choose from suppliers who share the same values as we do when it comes to offering a quality product with a quality service," said Managing Director Maurice O'Connor. "So opting for the package on offer from Volvo and our own findings from the evaluations wasn't a difficult choice to make," he continued.
Operating from its relatively new base at Scratchwood Quarry with immediate access to the M1 motorway, QRS was formed out of parent company Stanmore Quality Surfacing to specifically receive used material; recycle it; and store it for future projects. The material is then processed with the new EC210C feeding a recently commissioned, high capacity mobile screen. The twenty one tonne model from Volvo is powered by a Volvo Tier III low-emission six litre engine developing 150 hp at 1800rpm and a maximum torque of 735Nm at just 1350rpm. This contributes to an excellent performance as it is well matched to the machine's hydraulics providing high efficiency, rapid cycles and low fuel consumption. An advanced mode control system ensures the maximum possible hydraulic horsepower available is delivered at a constant engine speed under varying load conditions. Operators have complete control of the machine's functions thanks to this advanced Volvo technology.
