The RoSPA Gold Award winner, A-Plant, will be appearing on Stand No 124 at the Health & Safety 08 exhibition, taking place from 8th - 9th October 2008 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. This year, RoSPA presented A-Plant with the prestigious Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety to reflect the outstanding contribution and ongoing support that A-Plant has provided to the hire industry. Visitors to Stand 062 will be able to see why the company was honoured in this way with a display of the very latest initiatives and products aimed at enhancing health and safety in all the industries it serves.
Along with the RoSPA award, A-Plant, one of the UK's largest providers of plant, tool and specialist equipment hire, also scooped both the Best Contribution to Health and Safety Award and the Excellence in Training Award at the Hire Association Europe's (HAE) Hire Awards of Excellence 2008.
Complementing the campaigns run by the company, A-Plant offers a comprehensive fleet of safety products, which forms part of what is believed to be the best hire service in Europe. The ongoing investment in the A-Plant fleet ensures that customers can always hire equipment which meets or exceeds the required safety standards.
Visitors to the Health & Safety 08 exhibition can pick up the latest version of A-Plant's free-of-charge Site Safety Pack, part of the company's well established Setting the Safety Standard campaign designed to help customers to reduce injuries on-site by ensuring their employees operate in the safest possible working environment. The enhanced Site Safety Pack comprises folders, posters, window stickers, Hand Arm Vibration, Dust and Work at Height supplements and an extensive 60-page Health and Safety handbook.
One of the latest initiatives from A-Plant is the 'Be Safe, Be Competent, Choose A-Plant' campaign in support of the Health and Safety Executive's 'Shattered Lives' campaign to prevent slips, trips and falls in the workplace. The A-Plant 'Be Safe, Be Competent, Choose A-Plant' campaign promotes the importance of competency when working at height. The company recognises that competency is measured by the experience, knowledge and appropriate qualifications that enable a worker to identify the risks arising from a situation and the measures that need to be taken to work safely. With this campaign, A-Plant is highlighting the fact that undertaking a work at height activity requires training in the selected system of work and with any particular work equipment chosen.
A-Plant offers solutions for many types of work at height with the company's vast range of Powered Access equipment and training services available. A-Plant Powered Access has an extensive hire fleet comprising almost 2,000 items of state-of-the-art equipment for access requirements, including scissor lifts, telescopic booms, articulating booms, trailer mounted machines and specialist equipment such as lightweight aluminium personnel lifts and track-mounted booms.
A-Plant has just opened a new National Customer & Technical Training Centre in Nottingham. Established as a complementary value added service to A-Plant's market-leading equipment rental service, the new National Customer & Technical Training Centre provides a central focus for the delivery of a wide range of training courses designed to meet the needs of A-Plant customers, with health and safety training in Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Working at Height, Safety Harness Awareness, Fall Arrest, Driver Load/Unload and Site Safety Awareness including CSCS test preparation.
