“Volvo ticks all the boxes for Wooldridge Demolition...” So says Director Nick Anderson
So says Director Nick Anderson as he takes delivery of a further two EC210C and two EC290C excavators with demolition specification for Wooldridge's fleet of sixteen predominantly Volvo branded machines.
These latest machines are modified for demolition duties and feature, heavy duty belly guards, FOGS cab protection, side impact protection and bucket cylinder guard. One of the EC290C's has been supplied with a 17m ultra high reach three piece equipment rig complete with modular boom joint to enable it to be converted back to standard configuration and is the third high reach machine to join the fleet. "Specification and the robust build of the Volvo product have been the drivers in Wooldridge Demolition's decision to pursue the Volvo brand," commented Director Nick Anderson who took delivery of the first Volvo machine back in 2002. For instance, the machines have a hammer / shear hydraulic circuit; an optional rotation circuit and hose rupture valves to the boom and dipper cylinders fitted as standard. "More importantly we have been impressed with the level of after sales support from Volvo's customer support centre at Woking", continued Mr Anderson. "We can rely on Volvo to sort any issues out quickly and efficiently and to act on their promises."
Volvo excavators are powered by Volvo Tier III low-emission engines which contribute to an excellent performance and are well matched to the machine's hydraulics providing high efficiency, rapid dig cycles and low fuel consumption. An advanced mode control system ensures the maximum possible hydraulic horsepower available is delivered at a constant engine speed under varying load conditions. In addition, boom and arm geometry provide highly competitive digging forces and lifting capacities, which makes for faster work cycles.
The new EC290C with its three piece ultra high reach boom offers a practical working height of 17 metres and a forward reach of 10 metres with a maximum attachment weight of 2000kg including a quick hitch and attachment plate. The three piece rig with modular boom joint was provided by Messrs Kocurek of Ipswich. The latest batch of machines now account for half of Wooldridge's fleet carrying the Volvo brand name.
