Target Plant & Sales Ltd has taken a first time delivery of ten EC25 compact excavators
Colchester based Target Plant & Sales Ltd has taken a first time delivery of ten EC25 compact excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment Ltd for its expanding hire fleet.
Established in Colchester in 1981 as a family business, Target Plant & Sales Ltd developed its small plant and tool hire and sales operations opening an additional depot in Ipswich five years later. In its continued expansion, the company is making a further investment in a brand new bespoke facility just off the busy A14 at Stowmarket. And part of this recent investment includes the purchase of ten new EC25 compact excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment. "This is the first time we've opted for the Volvo brand and our decision to do so was based on sound third party references on the product itself and Volvo's reputation for after market support," commented Managing Director Simon Braby. "With a competitive package, the prospect of high residual values and reliable support, so far we've been pleased with our decision to choose from Volvo," he continued.
The batch of ten EC25's are additions to a fleet of mini excavators now totalling eighty machines from 1 tonnes up to 8 tonnes operating weight, and a range of site dumpers up to 9 tonnes capacity alongside a comprehensive range of small tools and non mechanical equipment. The total hire fleet of non operated plant is available for short, medium or for long term hire and is maintained by Target Plant's team of depot based engineers. The new facility at Stowmarket is due to open in August 2008 and will further assist Target Plant's area coverage to the construction market in East Anglia along the A14 corridor.
As with all Volvo construction equipment, the compact excavator line develops impressive levels of performance and technological advances. This includes a variable flow power control hydraulic system for precise control under all load conditions and safety features such as Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS), Tip Over Protection Structure (TOPS) and Falling Objects protection Structure (FOPS) contribute to outstanding operator safety. Specifically, the Volvo EC25's sold to Target Plant & Sales Ltd have a well proven track record in design, performance and reliability. Powered by a low emission 3cylinder diesel engine developing 23 hp the EC25 utilises a closed centre load sensing hydraulic system providing a powerful, smooth operation and full independence of all functions. Smart wrap around side counterweights protect the machine from side impacts and open up to provide superb access to all the servicing points.
Volvo Construction Equipment Ltd market wheeled loaders, articulated haulers, hydraulic excavators, graders, Volvo Compact Equipment and Volvo road machinery products. Nine strategically placed customer support centres and a network of compact equipment dealers ensure high quality customer support throughout Great Britain.
