Buntons purchase ten Volvo excavators
So says Andy Bunton, Co-Director of R Bunton Plant Hire Ltd, Harecroft near Bradford as he takes delivery of a further ten Volvo excavators for his plant hire and contracting fleet.
Established in 1970 by Andy Bunton's father Robert as a building concern, Buntons expanded its portfolio into skip and casual plant hire. Since moving to its existing premises in 1980 the very much family run business has solely concentrated its interests in plant hire together with groundwork and landscaping contracts, aggregates, crushing and screening work. Although not strangers to the Volvo product, having run a number of articulated haulers for several years, and a fleet user of the Volvo BL71 backhoe loader, acquiring ten units since 2006, their first Volvo excavators were purchased at the beginning of the year. "We were extremely impressed with the Volvo product when we evaluated it on demonstration and since taking delivery of the first three machines in January we've been pleased with our investment," said Mr Bunton. "Offering our customers a quality brand of machine for hire also lifts our profile in the locality so we had no hesitation in choosing Volvo once again as we increase the size of our plant fleet," he continued.
The ten new models include six twenty one tonne EC210C's, a fourteen tonne EC140B and a twenty four tonne EC240C all on tracks. A wheeled EW140C and its larger brother the EW160C complete the package. The Volvo C series excavators launched during 2007 are powered by Volvo Tier III low-emission engines which contribute to an excellent performance and are well matched to the machine's hydraulics providing high efficiency, rapid dig cycles and low fuel consumption. An advanced mode control system ensures the maximum possible hydraulic horsepower available is delivered at a constant engine speed under varying load conditions. In addition, boom and arm geometry provide highly competitive digging forces and lifting capacities, which makes for faster work cycles. Hose rupture valves are fitted as standard to the boom and dipper cylinders as are quick fit hydraulics and a hammer/shear service.
The new Volvo excavators delivered to R Bunton Plant Hire Ltd join a large and diverse plant fleet numbering 120 all of which are maintained at the company's yard and fully equipped workshops by five service engineers. Bunton's also run a fleet of grab and tipper wagons to support its groundworks and other, varied activities.
