J O’Doherty haulage Ltd increases its plant fleet
J O'Doherty haulage Ltd of Edmonton north London increases its plant fleet with more Volvo Construction Equipment products.
Specialists in processing industrial and demolition waste with on site crushing and screening facilities, J O'Doherty Haulage Ltd has taken steps to further enhance its profile by acquiring a twenty four hour licence to handle all manner of industrial and domestic waste. And part of the development at its expansive site in Edmonton North London where up to 85% of incoming material is recovered, has been the purchase of more Volvo Construction Equipment products. The recent additions to the fleet are two twenty one tonne EC210CL excavators, two twenty four tonne EC240CL's, the larger EC290CL variant along with a couple of EC140BLC's. The new arrivals join a twenty five machine strong fleet of predominantly Volvo branded excavators and loading shovels.
Choosing more Volvo excavators for his fleet Managing Director Jim O'Doherty comments; "It's the build quality and reliability we like about the Volvo machines. They are robust and well specified for this sort of application." Volvo's level of after market support is just as important to his operation with all the Volvo equipment on site being covered by Volvo's Blue Customer support agreements. Under this arrangement all his Volvo machines are serviced and maintained by qualified Volvo service engineers including regular inspections, oil sampling and analysis and comprehensive, proactive reports to maximise machine productivity with the aim of enhancing residual values.
Volvo C series excavators are powered by Volvo Tier III low-emission engines which contribute to an excellent performance and are well matched to the machine's hydraulics providing high efficiency, rapid dig cycles and low fuel consumption. The EC210C is installed with a 6 litre engine developing 150 nett hp whilst the larger EC240C and EC290C machines sport a 7 litre engine with a nett output of 170hp and 195hp respectively. An advanced mode control system ensures the maximum possible hydraulic horsepower available is delivered at a constant engine speed under varying load conditions. In addition, boom and arm geometry provide highly competitive digging forces and lifting capacities, which makes for faster work cycles. Hose rupture valves are fitted as standard to the boom and dipper cylinders as are quick fit hydraulics and a hammer/shear service. The models supplied to J O'Doherty Haulage also have side impact protection and heavy duty cab guards as a partial demolition specification giving more flexibility for the range of duties that can be undertaken.
