A-Plant Preview Release for ScotPlant Exhibition

A-Plant Reflects Strong Presence In Scottish Market With All-Round Display At Scotplant 2008

Demonstrating the companyís comprehensive service covering all parts of the Scottish market, A-Plant will have a strong presence at the ScotPlant 2008 Exhibition. The A-Plant stand brings together a wide selection of products from the Plant and Tool and Trenchless Technology operations, with impressive support from the companyís Specialist Equipment businesses, including A-Plant Powered Access, A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management, A-Plant Accommodation and A-Plant Power Generation and Welding.

Key aspects of the stand will be the security offered by A-Plant equipment, where deft combinations of anti-theft products such as the A-Trak tracking system, immobilisers and the CESAR (Construction Equipment Security and Registration) equipment identification and marking programme have resulted in high recovery rates of equipment in excess of 95%. This provides assurance to Scottish hire customers and saves them significant time and money by both deterring and quickly overcoming the problems caused by plant theft.

The stand will include several examples from the A-Plant Powered Access hire fleet. The companyís hire fleet comprises almost 2,000 items of state-of-the-art equipment for access requirements, including scissor lifts, telescopic booms, articulating booms, trailer mounted machines and specialist equipment such as lightweight aluminium personnel lifts and track-mounted booms.

A-Plant Lux offers traffic management solutions and a vast range of products to hire, including the very latest cableless traffic lights in 2, 3 and 4-way configurations, tandem cableless and Variable Message Systems as well as standard trailer sets, traffic separators, temporary kerbing, traffic cones, crowd control barriers, remote control Stop/Go boards, crash impact cushions and Chapter 8 Signing, Lighting and Guarding with Class 1 or Class 2 signs.

The ScotPlant stand will also feature equipment from the A-Plant Accommodation fleet, which covers the complete range from modular buildings, anti-vandal units and fire-rated units to serviceloos, security stores and mobile units to serve and solve the needs of both the construction and industrial markets.

To meet emergency requirements, A-Plant Power Generation and Welding offers a complete range of generating sets from the smallest 10kVA diesel set through to the largest 1250kVA model. All A-Plant generators incorporate the latest engines from leading manufacturers such as GenSet, with many industry leading developments built into the machines as standard, including low oil Murphy switches to protect the engine, long running oil filtration systems to reduce customer disruption, with the added bonus of the units being amongst the quietest in the industry. A-Plant has a Power Generation depot in Glasgow.

As well as offering economical benefits, A-Plantís Trenchless Technology equipment has distinct safety advantages. Alongside the companyís vast fleet of non-operated plant, A-Plant can supply impact moles, pipe bursting rigs, electro fusion and butt fusion machines, Tin 12 generators, pipe coil trailers, pipe pushing machines, plus a full range of associated and ancillary items. The range also includes confined space equipment such as gas detection sets, breathing apparatus, escape sets and tripods. A-Plantís Trenchless Technology products avoid the many hazards of excavation, as they allow the ground support to be installed without the need to enter the excavation.

A-Plant is part of FTSE 250 company, Ashtead Group plc, the leading UK and US equipment outsourcer. A-Plant was declared Hire Company of the Year 2007 at Hire Association Europeís Hire Awards of Excellence.
