A-plant puts the spotlight on its health and safety initiatives
Leading hire company A-Plant will be putting the limelight on its Health and Safety drive at the 'Health & Safety 07' exhibition, taking place on 10th - 11th October 2007 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. A-Plant is exhibiting on stand number 062 and will be launching new initiatives aimed at enhancing Health and Safety. Demonstrating the company's continuing focus on Health and Safety in the workplace, A-Plant has already launched a new campaign to increase safety levels in the wide range of industries served by the company. The new 'Setting the Safety Standard' campaign answers a market need identified by customers for more information and solutions to meet current and future safety legislation.
Through the Setting the Safety Standard campaign, A-Plant will be working with customers to reduce injuries on-site by ensuring their employees operate in the safest possible working environment. The new campaign reflects the growing importance of Health and Safety and reinforces A-Plant's commitment in this area. As part of the Setting the Safety Standard campaign, A-Plant is launching a new version of the company's highly popular Site Safety Pack, which will be distributed at the 'Health & Safety 07' exhibition.
The new and improved Site Safety Pack from A-Plant will incorporate additional information covering areas ranging from Dust control and Noise Control, to Working at Height. The additional items will enhance the already existing comprehensive Site Safety Pack that includes folders, posters, stickers and an extensive 60-page Health and Safety handbook. The Health and Safety handbook gives a wealth of information on a range of subjects - from Hand-Arm Vibration Safety and working in confined spaces to manual handling and the safe use of access scaffolds and ladders and is designed to help site workers to understand the ever evolving Health and Safety legislation and guidelines.
The enhanced pack will also contain the Dust Supplement focusing on the substantially reduced Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) for Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) exposure introduced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). A-Plant offers an industry-leading range of dust extraction and suppression equipment from Dustcontrol to help contractors to meet the reduced WELs. The A-Plant equipment complies with COSHH regulations stating that dust should be primarily extracted from the point of its production, with airborne dust cleaning being a secondary back up.
Information supporting the HSE's 'Better Backs' Campaign is also incorporated within the Site Safety Pack. Whatever needs to be lifted on-site, A-Plant has a massive range of lifting, materials handling, mechanical and non-mechanical equipment to help, including Vacuum Lifters, Chain Hoists, Stair Climbers and much more. All of this equipment is designed to help employers and workers avoid serious back or other injuries and prevent potentially costly periods of absence or inactivity.
There will be a number of products displayed on the A-Plant stand, including the Pop-Up system. The Pop-Up system is designed for internal use and meets work at height regulations, providing site contractors and their staff with a safe and simple low level access platform for indoor use, replacing the need for ladders and steps. Its detailed design offers a multitude of special features whilst offering the user varying platform heights. Pop-Up has been designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with both the European Standard EN280 and the safety requirements of the European Machinery Directive 98/37/EC.
